Our schools gather a wealth of data about student backgrounds and performance. I want to see data used to drive decision making. Raw data must be interpreted into meaningful information, and this information must be shared with the entire educational community. Collectively, we must draw on this data to learn the lessons of the past, to spot significant trends and change, and to shape our plans for the future.

Safe, Clean, Well-Maintained Schools

Our schools and grounds must be kept clean and well-maintained with a positive attitude that is conducive for maximum learning. Our schools must be safe havens for learning. Our classrooms, our hallways, and our parking lots must be drug-free and weapons-free zones. School safety and school maintenance is everybody's business.

Consistent, Responsible, "Top-to-Bottom" Business Practices

While educating our children is a life mission, a "higher calling," managing schools and the school district is a business. Bay District Schools must operate on sound business and financial practices at every level. We need clear and consistent business practices that are clearly and consistently applied in all our schools. Student performance is the best indicator of our success. Fiscal responsibility is a means to the end of this great goal.
